The learners and staff at Michael Oak put on a stunning concert on Saturday night - Joshua's tribute. I was blown away by the scale and quality of the production, and touched by how many people cared about Josh. For the first time, we heard Josh's band play - guys, you were terrific, and I can only imagine how you would have sounded had Josh been with you on stage. And Josh's grade nine class put on a moving finale. Thanks to everyone involved in the production, the refreshments, the artwork, the sound, the lights, the organisation... and thanks to all who came to give Josh a rousing send-off.
I may continue with this blog, discussing how our journey continues, and related issues, so if you have found it helpful or of interest, please check back here every now and then.
Rory,
Please, if it helps you, and you continue to find the strength, continue to write here. I so wish I was there to help you two, and I so wish I was there before to help Josh, but I find some solace in your words as you add them to these precious pages.
I am amazed at times how you find the strength to write those comments, but I imagine some sanity must prevail.
It is hard to find words at a time like this. I am so happy that so many care for Josh, and for you and Lorraine.
We are more than an ocean apart, but I wouldn't trade the times our two families spent together that year in Ontario for anything. Although deeply saddened by the loss, Josh's laugh and incredible spirit will most certainly live on in my heart.
I wish you two all the best, and hope to see you again soon.
Love,
Alden

Rory, I thought of all of you when the concert was going on and I'm glad to hear that it was wonderful. I wish I could have been there.
I, too, would love it if you feel moved to continue writing.
lots of love,
Erica

As both Alden and Erica have said in their messages, I would love to hear updates from you and Lorraine. It helps us feel connected to you while you mourn, remember, but most importantly celebrate Josh's incredible life.
Thanks so much for letting us into your heart and mind.
Love,
Tanya

Dear Rory and Lorraine,
My warmest thoughts and prayers are with you and your extended family. I remember Josh (through my daughter and from teaching him Greek) as a calm, centered person, someone who did not get caught up in much of the social drama around him but allowed other kids to be themselves. The tribute to him was moving, and showed some of the incredible love that others feel for him. May that love continue to surround you, and him. Also, I visited the John of God website and was impressed - I hope you can still go at some point. I'd love to go there myself.
Love and Blessings,
Lisa
