Trained as a civil engineer at the University of Cape Town, I have been a transport planning practitioner since 1989. I was drawn to the field while preparing my student thesis on Cape Town's taxis (jitneys). Since then, I have worked in Canada (in and around Toronto) and South Africa (mainly Cape Town).
My online interests include things that are related to transportation and land use planning, and others that are completely unrelated; but most of them touch on my concern with sustainability or whatever you want to call "preserving the planet for current and future generations".
